P.S. I love you

This layout was published in a Brazilian magazine, "Decorando Álbuns - Scrapbooking". It was done to celebrate Valentine´s Day.
Valentine's Day takes on a slightly different hue in Brazil. We call it 'Dia dos Namorados' or Boyfriend's/ Girlfriend's Day and we celebrate it every 12 June. Of course, as love is universal, the spirit of love and romance dominates the occasion.
The date -- 12 June -- was chosen for a particular reason. This date is observed by devout Brazilians as the day of St. Anthony of Padua, the saint who is believed to bestow fortune and blessings on marriages.
What girlfriends, boyfriends, husbands and wives do here in this special occasion is exchange thoughtful gifts. There is a lot of love, laughter and general merriment all around. Elaborate meals are cooked at homes, there are parties and a lot of romance in the evening.
I started to celebrate my Valentine´s Day with this layout and I´m planning a romantic candle-light  dinner for the occasion.
Cheers!

A monochromatich layout

Here´s my first layout using a monochromatich color sheme where I used green papers from Crate Paper´s Brook Collection and embellishments in differrent shades.

I´ve done this layout for Scrap Zine´s second issue.
Scrap Zine isa Brazilian magazine edited by Thatianna Penna.
You can see it here

I have contributed for this first issue with two layouts inspired by Claude Monet´s work and this monocromatic layout telling about the environmental causes I defend.

Inspiration: Monet

I made these two layouts for the Scrap-Zine magazine, edited by Thati Penna, who, in every edition, presents works which have the inspiration in an artist. For the most recent, issue 2, the theme couldn’t be more inspiring for me since it reported itself to the impressionist artist, Monet.

Recently, making another dream come true, I visited in spring Giverny’s house and gardens, where the artist lived the last days of his life!
Being there, for me, was a unique experience which allowed me, with all plenitude, to verify the mastery of Monet’s impressionistic brushwork and the poetry of his life.

Inspired by Giverny’s sceneries, I made two layouts and, of course, thought that the occasion needed painting!!! Consequently, I painted the two backgrounds of my layouts, taking advantage of different techniques.

For the first one, Giverny, I used circle´s mask, sprays and watercolor tablets, which were glued on the page and received water right there, just so I could get an interesting effect on the paint splatters. I also put some palette straps, a piece of napkin with the famous Monet’s Japanese bridge and an unbelievable fridge magnet I had bought in Giverny’s store already knowing it was going to have a more glamorous destiny than what was imagined!

For the second, Monet’s Garden, I used two papers I drew with watercolor to which I added some Prima paper cut outs and a post card I had bought at Giverny’s and, of course, looooots of flowers!
